Each product has different requirements for surface effects, some require coarse pearlescent pigment particles (obvious pearlescent effect), and some require fine pearlescent pigment particles (weak pearlescent effect). One is the "burst" of the substrate. This problem generally occurs during the pearl printing of soft labels of cigarette labels. If you use pearlescent ink on the soft pack, you have to use pearlescent pigment with finer particles and use gravure printing. However, because the base of the soft pack is thinner and the pressure of the gravure printing is larger, the burst problem is relatively difficult control.
The second is paper deformation. When infrared drying is used or pearlescent printed products are naturally dried, the paper of the cigarette label soft package is easily deformed, and the process control is more difficult. However, the situation of printing gold and silver cardboard is much better, and the paper with larger quantitative is more suitable for pearlescent printing. Generally, if the cigarette label paper is in the range of 230-250g / m2, it is very advantageous for pearlescent printing.
The third is whether the product has odor. Cigarette labels have stricter odor requirements for packaging. The odor of pearlescent pigment itself is not big, but sometimes the odor generated by the product is larger due to the poor adjustment of pearlescent ink. By improving the ink and printing equipment, this problem can be effectively avoided.
The fourth is the color difference of printed matter. Due to the difference in the particle size of pearlescent pigments, it is difficult to control the color difference during the printing process. When using screen printing, the pearlescent pigments with fine particles must first be transferred to the substrate through the screen, while the coarse particles are caught by the screen, so as the printing progresses, the larger particles of the pigment accumulate More, the color of the printed matter will be lighter and lighter, resulting in color difference.
Fifth, the amount of ink is relatively large. Coarse pearlescent pigment particles will also result in a relatively large amount of ink. If the particles are too coarse, the pearlescent pigment will leave residues in the ink, which is more difficult to separate and will lead to waste of ink. When using pearlescent inks, ensure that they are stirred evenly during use within the shelf life.
