The BESTPETTM, developed by Krones, is the first industrial-scale production line for applying an outer coating on PET bottles. This barrier-enhanced, silicon-treated PET material is mainly used for the filling of cool beverages without alcohol after the bottle is blown. This new process can also be used for beer filling. The BESTPETTM coating process followed by the blow-molding machine and the filling machine is a high technology developed by Krones in collaboration with the Coca-Cola Company (Atlanta, USA) and Leybold Systems.
