Canadian Cascades Launches PLA Degradable Plastic Container

China Packaging Network Compilation: Cascades recently launched a series of new degradable plastic containers. The company also became the first Canadian manufacturer to successfully produce commercial packaging using NatureWorks polylactic acid, a new plastic made from corn.

Containers made of polylactic acid have many different advantages such as high hardness and transparency of PET. In addition, when the material is decomposed, it will only produce water and carbon dioxide, which will minimize the impact on the environment. At the same time, its degradable nature does not affect the inherent hardness of the material.
