The third announcement on the protection of Tianzhutai in Tibet has been issued since 1985. This has given full respect and protection to the burial practice of the thousands of thousands of years of burial customs of the Tibetan people.
The Interim Provisions on the Administration of Celestial Burial (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") indicate that the burial of the Tibetan people is the burial custom of the Tibetan people and is protected by the laws of the country. It is forbidden to perform on-site viewing, photographing, photography and video recording of the celestial burial activities; it is forbidden to publish and broadcast texts, pictures, reports, etc. related to the celestial burial activities in newspapers, magazines, radio, film and television, and on the Internet.
The "Regulations" also pointed out that any organization or individual is prohibited from shooting, blasting, horning, or quarrying, borrowing, dredging, etc. at the communal burial platform and surrounding areas. It is prohibited to store and stack flammable or explosive materials at or near the celestial burial platform. Poisonous, corrosive, radioactive articles, or dumping of garbage, discharge of industrial and domestic sewage. The body of a person who died of poisoning, brutality or death from infectious diseases cannot be sent to the Tianzhutai for celestial burials.
The "Regulations" also pointed out for the first time that celestial burial practitioners are professional professionals engaged in celestial burial and should be respected. No organization or individual can discriminate against them.
The burial of the earth is a unique way of funeral of the Tibetan people. “The Tibetan celestial burial custom has been known for more than a thousand years. At present, more than 80% of Tibetans still follow the burial customs of the celestial burial,†said Basang Wangdui, director of the Institute of Ethnic Studies at the Tibet Academy of Social Sciences, who has long studied Tibetan burial customs.
According to surveys conducted by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the autonomous region, there are a total of 1,075 celestial burial stations in Tibet and nearly one hundred celestial burial masters.
Tu Jiaming, director of the welfare section of the Tibet Autonomous Region Civil Affairs Department, said that the unique funeral customs of the Tibetan people have been respected by the Central Government and the local government of Tibet. In order to protect the customs and habits of Tibetans, the Tibet Autonomous Region issued notices twice before the issuance of this "Regulation", prohibiting irrelevant personnel from visiting the Tianzhutai and prohibiting filming. Offenders will be held accountable.
In order to create a tranquil atmosphere for the Tianzhutai and its surroundings, before the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the Chinese government has fully considered designing places for religious activities such as celestial burial tables and temples, and made every effort to ensure that these areas are intact and require the construction units to be at burial time. Stop the job.
The most famous Tianzhutai of Tibet, such as the Tianla Terrace, the Zhigong Temple, and the Tianzui Terrace, are almost all in Lhasa. It has also become an ideal place for many religious people to choose Tianzhu. In order to protect the environment around Tianzhutai, the Lhasa City People’s Government banned 9 quarrying plants, dredging plants, stone processing plants and other facilities around the salad cemetery in June 2004 and invested 1 million yuan in the northern part of Lhasa City. Suburban communal ceilings and auxiliary facilities were built.
The Tibetan celestial burial teacher Chili Qusang said: "The government’s measures to protect the Tianzhutai have enabled the inheritance and continuation of the funeral customs that have been formed in Tibet for thousands of years. This is a blessing to the local people!"
