SatRevolution of Poland recently announced plans to cooperate with foreign companies to build the country's first satellite manufacturing plant. The plant will be responsible for manufacturing the company's first commercial satellite, Swiatowid (10 cm x 10 cm x 20 cm, weighing 2 kg), and two satellites, Rusalka PhoneSat (0.3 kg, which will continue to be developed later). ).
To build the plant, SatRevolution said it hopes to get an investment of about $10 million by the end of 2017. Currently, they are negotiating with potential investors, including the European Union, but have not disclosed the amount of funds they have received. At the same time, however, they have made it clear that they will begin testing satellites in June 2017 and then launch them for the first time in early 2018.
In fact, as early as late 2016, SatRevolution announced the news of the development of the Swiatowid satellite. Now, they have also found a reliable partner, that is, Airbus's 3D printing company APworks has reached a cooperation. It is reported that the latter will be fully responsible for the development and printing of the satellite and the latter two Rusalka.
In addition to Airbus' APworks, SatRevolution has also partnered with Interorbital Systems, a US rocket, satellite and spacecraft manufacturer.
