Sinopec Jinan Branch successfully developed high-speed BOPP special materials

Sinopec Jinan Branch, after more than two years of time and four industrial trials, has recently successfully developed special materials for high-speed biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), which has created conditions for companies to adapt to market changes and adjust product structure.

According to the traditional theory, BOPP as a high-performance polypropylene special material can only be produced using the double loop process. There is no precedent for using the single loop process, especially the single loop process to produce a film with a line speed of 380 m/min or more. High-speed BOPP special materials are even considered unachievable. In July 2004, the Jinan branch and the Beijing Chemical Research Institute jointly undertook the high-speed BOPP special-purpose material project. After consulting a large amount of data and repeatedly researching key issues, based on continuous deepening of experiments and improvement of data, a color printing film with a thickness of 18 μm was produced, and the production process was stable without breaking the film.

The test results show that the highest speed of the high-speed BOPP special materials produced can reach 413 m/min, the film thickness is uniform, and the quality is fully up to standard. Compared with other similar products, it has the advantages of good stiffness and high tensile strength, reaching domestic Leading level.
