Ink composition

In non-water-based UV-curable ink compositions suitable for ink jet printing, selected from acrylate-modified polydimethylsiloxanes are used together with at least colorants and UV-curable organic diluents. Polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane surfactants. The use of such surfactants prevents the ink composition from causing greater than 5% nozzle loss in an ink jet print head and enables the composition to provide a hole to area ratio of no greater than 0.05. The ink composition of the present invention has particular application in the printing of food packaging.
