American Packaging Corporation (APC) won the Gold Award for FPA Printing Achievements for Hershey's candy packaging. The award-winning product was the limited-edition Mounds Island Orange candy bag that was introduced last year.

APC has produced two or three FAST lines to produce this type of packaging. The use of the packaged candy was very successful in the United States last year.

APC’s graphics manager said, “We installed the FAST printing system and drove it in June last year. We investigated this system for a long time. With this system, we can directly use the network without bias registration. With FAST plates, we can print smaller, more stable high-gloss spots.With solvent-based plates, there are times when solvents penetrate into the plates to make them slightly swollen. In this case, high light spots are particularly difficult to print. And we do not have the trouble of printing plate expansion, because the FAST system prints without using solvent, and the printing plate will not swell."
