With the rapid development of the petrochemical industry, polystyrene foam (FPS) has been produced and applied on a large scale, which has caused the waste FPS to pollute the environment. In recent years, people have made great progress in the recycling of spent FPS. Among them are: use of sealants for building construction, finishing agents, and production of sound insulation and insulation bricks. We used the waste FPS as the main raw material to prepare a building material adhesive with good performance.
(1) Raw materials and reagents
Waste FPS, toluene, ethyl acetate, dibutyl phthalate, maleic anhydride, acrylic acid, n-butanol, OP emulsifier.
(2) Instruments
Electromagnetic stirrer, NDJ-7 rotary viscosity agent, WXJ-1 strength tester, 501 super constant temperature tank, crusher.
(3) Preparation method
A certain amount of waste FPS was crushed to a particle size of 0.5-1 cm, placed in a 250-ml beaker, a certain amount of water was added, an appropriate amount of detergent was added, and the mixture was stirred and washed, then repeatedly rinsed with water, and baked in an oven to prepare for use. .
Take 100 ml of ethyl acetate and 50 ml of toluene in a 250 ml three-necked flask, add 102 g of waste FPS after drying, and turn on the stirrer to dissolve all waste FPS. At this time, the solution is colorless and transparent. The three-necked flask was transferred to a water bath at a constant temperature of 76 to 78 degrees, heated and stirred for 30 minutes, and then 10 ml of dibutyl phthalate was added for reaction for one hour. Weigh 2.5 grams of maleic anhydride, dissolved in 50 ml of water to form a solution, and slowly add it to a three-necked flask. After the temperature rises to 78 degrees, accelerate the stirring, then add 4 ml of acrylic acid dropwise, after 70 minutes. Add 7 ml of OP emulsifier, heat and stir for 20 minutes, add 10 ml of n-butanol, continue stirring for 30 minutes, and cool to room temperature to obtain the adhesive.
