How to use squares for combining and imposition

Fang Wenhe is the newest hand-down imposition software launched by Beijing University Founder in May 1999. The latest version is 1.1. There are two main functions in the text: folding and imposition. The folding function of the square text is designed to achieve the above requirements. The imposition is a version of a small page in accordance with a certain direction and scaling into a single-page version of the general application of folding in the printing of books and magazines, the imposition is generally used in the printing of advertising and newspapers.

The use of the textual power of the user greatly solves the disadvantages of inconsistency, low productivity, high labor intensity, and high repetition, which were previously caused by artificial hand-folding and artificial imposition. In particular, with the rapid development of computer-to-plate (CTP) technology, the use of traditional software film collages to achieve hand-folding and imposition, and the use of automatic folding software and imposition software must be used. Xia Feng gives an example of how to use the body text for folding and imposition processing.

First, carry out the operation

Suppose there is a magazine with a 64-page Feiteng file to be folded out. The magazine's finished size is 180mm*260mm, saddle stitches, and it is now operating from scratch.

1, create a template

The template parameters are set as shown in Figure 1. In the large version, there are two rows and two columns. The page margin is the position left for the marker. This parameter can be set high according to the added marker. If you don't add any flags, you can set all margins to 0.

2, set the page number and side empty

According to the experience of layout, generally the width of the fold is set to 0, and the cut value of each page is set to 3. Since the horizontal cut in the middle includes the cut values ​​for the upper and lower pages, set it to 6, as shown in Figure 2.

3, set the mark

First, click the M button in the toolbar to change from page edit mode to mark mode so that you can add tags. The user can select a variety of marks, such as: alignment marks, crop marks, fold marks, color bars, comment bars, and the like.

5, create a job

Set the parameters according to Figure 3, in which the number of grams or thickness of the paper is used to calculate the amount of creep. The larger the potato sheet, the greater the amount of creep. Bleeding control can control the value of bleeding, usually choose bleeding to fold, that is, the amount of bleeding can be up to the edge. If the center of the hem is 0, the bleeding value is also 0. If the value of the hem is 3 mm, the maximum bleeding value is 3 mm. Bleeding control can also be specified by the user.

6, to deal with

Select the template you just created and the new job is ready. The job then is to select the source file to be folded. The user can scan to determine the page number, height, and width of a source file. If you set more pages than the job's page number, you will find a warning, but you can continue. If the page number of the source file is less than the set page number, the program reports an error and cannot continue working. If there are not so many pages, you can add a blank page to make up.

Finally, the PS output version can be made.

Second, the imposition operation

The imposition operation is similar to the folding operation. It is also to create a template first, and then create a job to select a template in the job. Figure 4 is a schematic diagram of adding a small page.

The difference between the imposition setting and the folding setup is not too different. The position of the small page can be arbitrarily placed. The area of ​​the blue color in Fig. 4 is the size of the printing center, which is the value of the large printing size minus the page margin. The set mark is placed in the interval between the printing plate and the large printing plate. It should be noted that the small page should not exceed the version of the edition, otherwise it will report an error.

In the syndication 1.1, the imposition function was added. For the files generated by Winsor and Feiteng, all the files in the file can be copied to the directory of the person's PS file. With this feature, pictures in the PS file can be conveniently collected for remote transmission to the remote site and output using RIP.

The convenient use of the text in combination with the user's needs is very suitable for the situation of the Chinese printing industry. It will completely eliminate the artificial hand-offs and impositions, and greatly increase work efficiency. It provides an effective solution to ensure high-quality printing.
