At present, the supply of high-strength corrugated base paper in China is insufficient, and the demand is large. The existing corrugated paper supply system based on middle- and low-grade products cannot meet the increasing demands of users for product quality, so only a large number of high-strength corrugated base papers are available. Rely on imports. There are three main reasons for this situation: First, due to the low value-added value of corrugated paper for a long time, paper mills that produce packaging paperboard are generally optimistic about products with high added value and large demand, such as kraft linerboard and whiteboard paper. There are not many corrugated paper projects planned for expansion. Second, the rapid development and improvement of domestic paper product packaging has boosted the demand for domestic high-strength corrugated base paper and kraft linerboard. Third, the recent weakness in the international market for corrugated base paper exceeds supply, while the supply of high-strength corrugated base paper in China is in short supply.

From the perspective of market demand, it is a major trend for domestic development of high-strength corrugated base papers to develop in the direction of low quantification, high strength, and full specifications. The demand for medium and high-strength corrugated base papers will increase, and the price of corrugated base papers will increase. At present, reducing costs and reducing quantification are two major topics in the development of corrugated base paper.
