Lijiang Ancient City begins a full-scale "white ban" operation

In the past one month or so, in the world cultural heritage of Lijiang Old Town, farmers' markets, supermarkets, supermarkets, restaurants and restaurants have lost sight of non-degradable plastic products. This is the new scene that has occurred since July 1 this year in the Old Town District of Lijiang City, prohibiting the production, sale, and use of disposable non-degradable plastic products.
The newly established Old City District of Lijiang governs six townships such as Dayan, Jinshan, Qihe, Jinjiang, Longshan, and Dadong. There are 14 farmers' markets, 12 supermarkets, and more than 4,000 households in the area. Before the implementation of the "ban", there were more than 50,000 plastic bags discarded on an average day, which seriously affected the environmental quality of the world's cultural heritage and brought serious hidden dangers to the city's flood control. From July 1st, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Gucheng District took practical measures to form a strong working team and law enforcement team and carried out a large-scale "white ban" work. Law enforcement officers walk an average of more than 10 kilometers a day, work more than 10 hours, so that "white" special work fell into place. By the beginning of August, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Gucheng District had issued more than 2,600 law enforcement officers, seized and collected more than 6 million disposable non-degradable plastic bags, more than 300,000 non-degradable fast food boxes, and disposable non-degradable plastic cups and bowls. More than 60,000 discs were ordered to rectify more than 1,100 stores within a time limit, persuading and educating more than 70,000 people and punishing more than 200 on-site. Through a one-month ban, the ancient city of Lijiang has basically eliminated "white pollution."
