Ethylene cracker control technology through identification

East China University of Science and Technology cooperated with Yangzi Petrochemical Company and successfully achieved the advanced control of the cracking furnace production process in the 400,000-ton/year large ethylene plant. A few days ago, this achievement passed the expert appraisal hosted by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province.

Experts believe that this achievement has reached the international advanced technology level, and its technologies such as fuel gas and heat value soft measurement system, real-time feedforward inferential control of fuel gas and heating value, and combustion heat distribution expert system at the bottom side of the cracking furnace have reached international advanced level.

The results were applied to industrial process modeling, neural networks, soft measurement, intelligence, and inferential control technologies. Since they were put into operation on industrial installations, real-time inferential control of the average furnace tube outlet temperature thermal value feed-forward has been achieved, ensuring that the cracking furnace tube The stability of the outlet temperature further optimizes the production operation of the cracking furnace so that each index reaches the optimum process requirements and forms a patented technology with independent intellectual property rights.
