Compostable Organic Candy Package

Simon Candy Company, JoEL, Inc., of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, launched the first new series of organic hard candy products in the US market. This series of products has five flavors and uses spiral wound packaging.

This package is made from NatureWorks PLA film that can be fully piled into fertilizer by Cargill Dow. This all-natural candy was developed to take advantage of organic brand growth in the food and candy market. W. David Hess, executive vice president of JoEL, believes that their new products, the first to enter the market, will appeal to organic food consumers and generate huge returns.

College Farm Organic Sugar has flavors such as barbecue, mint, vanilla, strawberry cheese, and lemon, wrapped in a transparent film with a trademark made of polylactide based on corn. PLA materials are ideal for marketing ideas for organic foods. This wrap film is only one-thousandth of an inch thick.
