Print design must understand knowledge-copying and imposition

1. Type of printing

Most design works require double-sided printing. After printing one side of a piece of paper, you have to print the other side. According to the content of the printing plate and the direction of the printing, the printing is divided into three types.

1. Positive and negative printing

Positive and negative printing means that the front content of the finished product is a version, and the negative content is a version. At least 2 PS versions are required. After printing one side, replace the other PS version to print the other side.

For example, for a 8-page printed product, the front and back of the two-issue four-fold film are issued, and each four-fold has four page numbers. The front and back versions correspond to each other. Only one bite is needed for the printed paper in front and back printing. As shown in Figure 1, Figure 2.

2. Self-reproduction printing

The front and back contents of the printed matter are on the same PS version. After one side is printed, the paper is flipped horizontally (left and right) and the other side is printed. At this time, the PS version of the printing machine and various calibration parameters do not need to be adjusted. After printing, the paper is cut according to the vertical center line of the paper. The two stacks of printed products after cutting are exactly the same. The paper material for self-reverse printing only needs one bite. As shown in Figure 3, Figure 4.

3. Rollover printing

The front and back contents of the printed matter are on the same PS version. After one side is printed, the paper is flipped vertically (front and back) and the other side is printed. At this time, the PS version of the printing machine and various calibration parameters do not need to be adjusted. After the printing is completed, the paper is cut according to the horizontal center line of the paper. The two stacks of printed products after cutting are exactly the same. The paper material for the rollover printing needs two bites. As shown in Figure 5, Figure 6.

Second, the file splicing of different copy types

1. Document imposition of positive and negative printing

Because both sides of the front and back version need to be printed, and need to pay 2 PS version. For example, for a printed product with 8 page numbers, the front and back 2 sets of four-fold film are issued, and there are 4 page numbers on each four-fold. The front and back versions correspond, as shown in Figure 7. Positive and negative printing is suitable for small promotional pages, business cards, etc.

2. Document imposition of self-reproduction printing

The front and back contents of the printed matter are on the same PS plate. After one side is printed, the paper is turned 180 degrees (left and right) in the horizontal direction, and then the other side is printed. For example, for a 16-page magazine cover, there are four pages: cover one, cover two, cover three, and cover four, which need to be printed. Print on the power on. After printing on one side, turn the paper 180 degrees to the left and right, and then print another. One side, after finishing, cut the printed matter from the middle, you can get two identical printed matters, as shown in Figure 8. Self-flip printing is suitable for printed matters such as magazines and books.

3. Document imposition for rollover printing

The front and back contents of the printed matter are on the same PS version. After one side is printed, flip the paper vertically (front and back) and then print the other side. A 16-page magazine cover is printed on the boot. After printing on one side, the paper is flipped vertically to print the reverse side. After the completion, the paper is cut according to the horizontal center line of the paper to obtain two identical prints. , As shown in Figure 2-14.
