NPES--American Association of Printed and Postpressed Technology Suppliers

NPES, the Association of Printing, Publishing, and Postpress Technology Providers, is the only trade association in the United States that represents companies in the printing, publishing, and post-press processing industries. The Association has 450 member companies and is mainly engaged in the production or distribution of equipment, systems, software and consumables in the industry.

NPES was founded in 1933, when the name was the National Printing Equipment Association. Twenty-six founding members include printer manufacturers, binder equipment manufacturers, typesetting equipment manufacturers, and professional printing equipment manufacturers.

Today, the association represents companies in the printing, publishing, and post-press processing industries that supply the equipment, consumables, systems, and software needed for the printing, publishing, and finishing processes. Nearly 400 companies of NPES cover almost all products in the industry, with annual revenues ranging from $1 million to $1 billion.

The international exhibitions hosted by GASC include PRINT and domestic exhibitions including GRAPH EXPO, CONVERTING, MIDWEST GRAPHICS, GRAPHIC ARTS, THE CHARLOTTE SHOW, Gutenberg FestivalSM and VUE/POINTSM Digital Imaging Conference.

The Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAEFR) is also located at NPES headquarters. GAEFR was created by the founder of GASC in 1983 to serve as a way to return some of the revenue generated by the exhibition to the printing industry. Since its establishment, GAEFR has provided more than 4 million U.S. dollars for more than 80 projects in more than 30 institutions.

Also in the NPES headquarters is the Graphic Arts Communication Committee (GCC), formerly known as the Graphic Arts Education Council (GAI) and the Graphic Arts Communication Professional Center (GCCC). GCC is dedicated to graphic arts careers and education. It is a joint organization integrating collaboration, business, and education.
