New U.S. study found that practicing yoga alleviates urinary incontinence

Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, found that yoga helps women improve their urinary incontinence . The results of the study, published in the Journal of Female Pelvic Medicine and Plastic Surgery, show that yoga training programs aimed at improving pelvic health can help women better control urination and avoid accidental leakage of urine.

Researchers from the San Francisco Bay Area convened a group of women over the age of 40 who have urinary incontinence in their daily lives. The researchers randomized these women, with one group of women participating in a six-week yoga therapy program and the other half not participating in yoga. The results of the study showed that the urinary incontinence status of women participating in the yoga therapy program improved by 70% compared to the baseline level, and the frequency of leakage of urine decreased. The women in the control group only improved by 13%. Most of the observed urinary incontinence cases are stress urinary incontinence , which is the leakage of urine caused by increased abdominal pressure due to coughing, sneezing, and bending.

Researchers believe that yoga can improve women's urinary incontinence through more than one physiological mechanism. First, because urinary incontinence is associated with anxiety and depression, women with urinary incontinence are more likely to benefit from yoga-emphasizing meditation and relaxation exercises. Second, regular yoga practice helps to increase the strength of female pelvic floor muscles, thus supporting the bladder and preventing urinary incontinence.

Specialty Dispenser

Caulking guns, also called caulk or cartridge guns, dispense a controlled flow of products such as caulk, sealants, and adhesives from a tube or cartridge.

A Manual Caulking Gun consists of a frame which holds the tube, a trigger, and a rod which moves forward when the trigger is depressed, dispensing the product.

Heavy Duty Caulk Gun

Manual caulking guns have a thrust ratio; the higher the thrust ratio, the easier it is to dispense the caulk, sealant, or adhesive. Air-powered or pneumatic caulking guns also have a frame and a trigger, but are used with an air pressure regulator that pushes the product from the tube using air pressure instead of a rod.
