Increase the recycling of wood packaging

In recent years, China’s economic development has been rapid, with almost every year increasing at a rate of 9%. At the same time, various resources are also consumed, and wood is one of them.

As we all know, China's timber resources are extremely scarce, and a large amount of wood needs to be imported every year to make up for the huge gap between supply and demand. However, in the context of the shortage of wood resources, our daily lives are filled with a lot of waste of wood resources, such as wood packaging, including paper packaging, the waste is amazing! The most objectionable wood packaging is the "big battle" in the annual moon cake box. According to relevant department statistics, the annual packaging cost for moon cake boxes in China is as much as 2.5 billion yuan, and moon cake box packaging costs account for more than one-third of the total cost of moon cake production. Looking at the waste of wood resources, the result is even more surprising. The total amount of garbage in China is more than 6 billion tons per year, of which about 3% is waste paper, which is about 200 million tons. The discarded moon cake boxes are only based on the ratio of waste paper. One thousandth of the calculation also has 200,000 tons, 1 ton of waste paper is equivalent to 4 cubic meters of wood, 200,000 ton of moon cake box is 800,000 cubic meters of wood. If these woods are erected, it will be a vast forest!

In addition to the moon cake boxes, paper packaging in our daily lives abounds, such as various cigarette cases, wine boxes, hat boxes, shoe boxes, toothpaste boxes, shirt boxes, food boxes, and gift boxes, etc., most distressing. Yes, most of the fate of these well-textured and aesthetically-appearing paper packagings are the same, that is, they are abandoned. This is a huge waste for a country where the economy is in a special shortage of developing timber resources. what!

So how do the developed countries solve the wood packaging problem? In Europe, developed countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain, they specifically recycle wood packaging as a type of waste, most of which are recycled and recycled into pulp.

After recycling in the Netherlands and other countries, after strict disinfection processing, more than 60% of non-food packaging and reuse. The United States has strict regulations on the production and use of wood packaging. Any commodity that uses wood packaging will be charged to the wholesaler for packaging processing fees; any packaging that exceeds the volume of the product is fraudulent; the packaging cost must not exceed the price of the commodity.

In contrast to these practices of developed countries, the trend of some wood packaging in China is becoming more and more popular and increasingly luxurious. We are eager for relevant departments to formulate measures to strengthen management:

The first is to start from the source so that the external content of the product itself and the package become a proper combination, not a big, irrelevant and flashy propaganda;

The second is the income from the back hand, to achieve a specific classification and recycling. Under the circumstances that the relevant laws and regulations are not yet mature, it should be feasible to start from these two aspects first.
