Paper is a topic that is always out of date for printers , and paper often occupies a very large proportion of printing costs. Therefore, responsible print operators are constantly researching how to minimize paper waste. After analysis, we found that the focus of paper waste is on the waste of booting, mainly caused by five problems, namely, inaccurate overprinting, layout defects, dirty layout, uneven ink color, unstable tension, as long as these five aspects The breakdown of each problem can significantly reduce the waste of boot.
01 class overprint is not allowed
In order to solve the problem of inaccurate overprinting, we specifically requested to add obvious markings during the plate making, so that after bending the plate, you can directly see the publication bends are not allowed, so as to reduce the chance of overprinting.
02 class layoutç‘•ç–µ
Before loading the plate, you should carefully check the layout for any dirty spots and scratches, especially the hand-made version, and remove the dirty spots with a revision pen. When the plate is optimistic, the plate will be biased to the same side after the alignment pin is used. This is because the gap opened on the plate is larger than the diameter of the locating pin. After installing the plate, clean it with the cleaning solution to remove the fingerprints on the plate and the slight scratches to ensure that the machine will not stop due to the problem of the layout.
03 class layout is dirty
The key to preventing the dirty surface is to control the ink and water balance. It is not necessary to say the adjustment of the water roller pressure. The setting of the water curve must be careful. The BALDWIN spray dampening system we use integrates the water volume control and the curve correction into the control panel of the printing press. It is quite convenient to adjust. The amount of water can be set slightly smaller, and then gradually increase the amount of water according to the dirty condition of the plate at different speeds. Finally, the plate must be kept clean in the speed range even during acceleration and deceleration.
04 class uneven color
Although the diary printing has only 1 or 2 colors, it is easy to adjust, but the ink must be uniform, and it should be quickly and evenly adjusted to reduce paper waste. Our company does not use CTP plate making, nor does it use ink preset software. It can only be adjusted manually. However, if it is to adjust the ink color by sampling, the paper waste must be very large.
How to achieve the perfect preset of ink without using the ink preset software? I took full advantage of the characteristics of the diary and the advantages of the machine. If there is a total of 12 posts in a diary, basically the amount of ink from the 2nd to the 11th posts is fixed, and the 12th post is slightly different. The first post often has more unit conversions and national telephone area codes. A lot of text content, such as time difference, holiday, etc., so the amount of ink is the biggest difference with other stickers. Therefore, I set up different working modes for different papers on the printer's server, and established a common mode and a first post mode for each type of paper. In the general mode, there is a common morning mode and a general normal mode. The same is true for the post mode. The data in each mode is stabilized at the start-up speed, and the adjustment is completed. Immediately after the ink color is stable, it is acquired and saved from the printing machine. Every time for any reason, I will reactivate the corresponding mode before rebooting, because during the continuous printing process, the heat of the printing press increases, the fluidity of the ink increases, and the degree of opening of the ink key decreases. The amount of water is constantly increasing, so the ink discharge of the ink fountain that is turned on after the shutdown is quite different from that of continuous printing, and needs to be reactivated. The same is true for the morning mode. After a long period of downtime, the printing press has been completely cooled, and the blanket and the paper feed roller have been cleaned. The amount of ink required is large and the amount of water is small, so it is necessary to change the mode. Let the press run for a few minutes and pre-ink the ink roller.
