It can generate various print files such as .ps, .prn, .pdf, etc., according to pre-set handy automatic collage and typesetting software, avoiding the typesetting software. The mistakes that can easily occur in large editions and manual make-ups in the Chinese group and improve labor productivity, Signastation is a very practical software. SignaMerger is an extended function developed by Heidelberg under the DeltaRIP software. Its role is to arrange and compose deltalist files generated by DeltaRIP interpretation with the settings of the imposition software, and then output them. The function of SignaMerger is completely for signastation. For service, it serves as a link between DeltaRIP and Signastation. Using the combination of the two, it can better serve for distribution and solve many practical problems.

To understand how Signastation works with SignaMerger, first understand how SignaMerger works. Before using SignaMerger, first create a series of printer queues, working directories, and shared folders under DeltaRIP. The role of the printer includes three aspects: 1 explain the files printed from the typesetting software, and generate DeltaList files; 2 explain from Signastation Corner lines, crosshairs, color scales, logos, logos, names, etc. sent by the workstation; 3 Receive the large-format files sent by the Signastation workstation and perform the process. The shared folder is used to store the DeltaList files generated after the interpretation. It should be noted here that the printer created under SignaMerger does not directly send the printed files but stores them as a DeltaList file for posting. Software use. Signastation imposition software directly arranges the DeltaList file that has been explained in the shared folder, and then sends it back to the printer under DeltaRIP, and then uses the SignaMerger function to combine the markings (corner, color, etc.) with the DeltaList file. Output for a dispatch file, and finally complete the dispatch command.

The author successfully used the Signastation software and the SignaMerger function to solve three puzzles in the dispatch process.

First, the imposition of different typesetting software

Under normal circumstances, a software is used to typeset a job, but in some cases, using a piece of software does not satisfy all the requirements of the customer, different software must be used. On the other hand, the output center needs to use different software to produce the customer. The documents are distributed together. At this time, a software-generated file can be output or generated as an image format and placed in another software layout. Alternatively, files generated by different software in the same layout can be sent out as a single page. , and then artificial imposition. However, the author believes that these two approaches can only temporarily solve the problem and cannot fundamentally solve the problem. First of all, the conversion between software is prone to some unexpected problems, such as lost words, less maps, lost effects; Second, artificial make-up wastes time, manpower, and materials. You can use the functions of Signastation and SignaMerger to solve this type of problem.

First, create a large version of the file on Signastation. This large version of the file is not directly used to tile stored .ps, .prn, .pdf, etc. files, but is used to collage DeltaList files. Different software can be used to print different files to the printer under DeltaRIP. The printer here is our pre-programmed printer for SignaMerger. The size of the print file must be the finished product size plus 3mm of bleeding around and without any The color separation file of the logo, pay attention to the file sequence, and the interpreted file will generate a DeltaList file in the corresponding shared folder for use by the Signastation imposition software. In the Signastation imposition software, find the shared folder on the DeltaRIP workstation through the network, and place the DeltaList files generated after different software printing into the large version file in a folded order. At this time, the DeltaList file and the layout software do not have any The relationship, it is just a file for the distribution, distribution only need to print the entire large version of the file to the DeltaRIP printer, you can directly output output without re-interpretation.

Second, the imposition of the Word document

In recent years, there are often some books and magazines that use Word to typeset. With Word, it is impossible to create a large version. It can only issue a single page. The author tried to use the “Signastation” software to spell out the “.prn” file generated by Word printing. However, due to compatibility issues, there was a serious missing word phenomenon, and there was no problem with single-page publishing. We copy the print file of the Word document to the server, send it to the printer built on the basis of SignaMerger through the Mac machine, generate the DeltaList file, and then use the Signastation imposition software to make the edition. The large version file is not directly The ".prn" file sent is a DeltaList file that has been interpreted by DeltaRIP. There is no word dropping at all, and it is safe to issue a large version.

With experience with Word layouts, we can also use this method to make impositions on documents that cannot be directly imposed by Signastation.

Third, the different lines of the page imposition

It may not sound like it is possible to expose a page with different screens on a single film. But now we can use the Signastation software and the SignaMerger function.

For example, there is an 8-page 16-page page on the facing film, of which there are 6 pages with 200 lines/inch, while the other two pages have 100 lines/inch. If you use the traditional method, it is not difficult. We can start with six pages of 200 lines/inch, and then send two lines of 100 lines/inch, and then put them together by hand. But now we use a brand-new method to publish, so that the same film can expose many different network lines and even different types of pages.

In the first question, we said that the printer under SignaMerger can interpret the files created by different software and then send them to the DeltaList file with the same attributes. Now the attributes of the files are the same, and the settings of the printer can be changed. By changing the settings of the printer, DeltaList files with different attributes can be obtained, that is, pages of different network lines, and then the DeltaList files of these different network lines are spelled by the Signastation software. One time together. Practice has proved that this method is feasible. The specific method is as follows: first set the printer output line number to 200 lines / inch, the file needs to be 200 lines / inch file issued after printing 200 lines / inch DeltaList file is saved; then the printer output line number Set to 100 lines/inch, a file with 100 lines/inch must be printed in the file to generate a 100 line/inch DeltaList file.
